MeMe went backstage at the Various Artists independent Film Festival and spoke to the two-time nominee and 2017 Best Comedy short winner Mark Atkinson. She talks to him about his projects, struggles as an independent filmmaker and the festival that helped him achieve some of his lifelong dreams.


Synopsis: A man plans a picnic in the park as a romantic gesture for his girlfriend. The romantic gesture turns out to be the ending of what was supposed to be a forever bond. Through a very difficult conversation, they both reveal the truth about how they have been feeling throughout their relationship.
